What this Trial Is About

Researchers are studying the effects of SugarLock peanut skin extract and white kidney bean extract on managing blood sugar levels after meals in healthy adults. The study aims to see if these supplements can reduce or delay the rise in blood glucose and control fluctuations following eating. Participants are healthy adults over 18 years old with normal fasting blood glucose and no diabetes diagnosis. Participants will take part in a randomized crossover trial with three test visits, each separated by at least 48 hours. On each visit day, after fasting for at least 10 hours, they will consume either two SugarLock peanut skin extract capsules, two white kidney bean extract capsules, or just water, all taken with 150 mL of water 15 minutes before eating white rice containing 50 grams of carbohydrates. Their blood glucose levels will be continuously monitored for 3 hours after the meal using a glucose monitoring device. During the study, participants will wear a continuous glucose monitoring system to track their blood sugar responses after each test meal. The main measurement is the glucose level in the fluid between cells measured 3 hours after eating. This monitoring helps researchers evaluate how these supplements influence post-meal blood sugar control. The overall participation involves three test visits with blood glucose tracking and at least a 48-hour break between visits.
