What this Trial Is About
Researchers are exploring how plaque buildup on selected teeth compares to plaque across the entire mouth. The study aims to determine if plaque scores from single teeth represent the full dentition, which may simplify plaque data collection during dental visits. Additionally, the study examines whether Dental Monitoring photos can accurately detect plaque levels, potentially improving how plaque is assessed during appointments. Participants will have intra-oral photos taken using a scan box before and after applying a plaque-disclosing solution. The plaque presence will be recorded with the O'Leary Plaque Index. No treatments beyond routine care will be performed, and some volunteers may participate only for data collection without receiving dental cleaning. Equipment will be sterilized between uses and securely stored. During the study, participants will attend their regular dental visits or designated times for image capture. Only age and plaque data will be collected. The main measurement is the presence of visible plaque at baseline. This may help develop remote plaque monitoring and enable earlier detection of plaque buildup. Participant involvement ends after data collection during these visits.
