What this Trial Is About
Researchers are evaluating how assistive torque from a hip-assist exoskeleton affects walking patterns in healthy adults. This study focuses on understanding the impact of different torque settings on walking characteristics such as step length, stride length, cadence, joint movements, muscle activity, and foot pressure. The study is designed to observe these effects in adults without gait impairments or hip surgery history. Participants will use the ANGEL SUIT H10, a wearable robot that provides assistive torque to the hip joint during walking. The study involves one group of healthy adult males and females aged 19 years or older, weighing between 50 to 100 kg. The device applies flexion and extension torque to the hip while participants walk, allowing researchers to capture detailed biomechanical data. During the study, participants will be assessed on multiple walking parameters including step and stride length, walking speed, cadence, and phases of limb support. Joint range of motion at the hip, knee, and ankle will be measured along with muscle activation in specific leg muscles using electromyography (EMG). Foot pressure and pressure-time integral will also be recorded. All assessments occur on day 1 of the study, and participants will need to be able to walk independently while wearing the exoskeleton. Safety and suitability will be monitored throughout.
