AI-Summary

What this Trial Is About

Researchers are studying how to safely and effectively remove large colorectal and duodenal polyps to help prevent colorectal and duodenal cancers. This observational cohort study builds on previous trials and aims to understand outcomes in a broader patient group, including those who might not have qualified for prior trials. The study also seeks to verify whether findings from earlier research apply to different populations and to explore evolving endoscopic resection techniques. The study observes patients undergoing endoscopic removal of large polyps, specifically colon polyps 20 mm or larger and duodenal polyps 10 mm or larger. It complements ongoing randomized trials by including patients and resection methods not covered in those studies. The research tracks outcomes such as complication rates and polyp recurrence over time, without assigning specific treatments. Participants will be monitored for complications within 14 days after the procedure, with polyp removal completeness evaluated during the procedure. Long-term follow-up includes surveillance colonoscopies up to five years later to check for polyp recurrence. Additional assessments cover bleeding, perforation, and technical aspects of the procedure. The total participation duration varies based on surveillance schedules, and the study records safety and efficacy data throughout this period.
