AI-Summary

What this Trial Is About

Researchers are studying how adolescents aged 12 to 18 who had diaphragm surgery within their first month of life, specifically for congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH), engage in physical and sports activities. This study aims to identify both the obstacles and factors that help these young people participate in such activities, combining human and social sciences with medical evaluation. It includes gathering experiences from both the adolescents and their parents through qualitative research methods. The study involves self-questionnaires and semi-structured interviews completed by the adolescents and their parents to share their experiences and perceptions. Alongside this, a complete medical evaluation, including clinical assessments and diaphragmatic motion analysis by cardiac MRI, will be conducted. These evaluations will help compare reported experiences to actual physical capabilities. Participants will complete questionnaires and interviews at the time of inclusion, and parents will also provide input through similar methods. Researchers will analyze the responses and medical data to understand engagement in physical activities better. The study is observational, with no treatment or intervention, and the total participation covers these assessments performed at the beginning of the study.
