What this Trial Is About
This research aims to collect and analyze information on patients with mediastinal tumors, including their population characteristics, imaging and pathological features, and factors that affect prognosis. Mediastinal tumors are a diverse group of rare tumors located in the mediastinum, which can be benign or malignant and may invade nearby structures or arise from metastases. The study seeks to build a specialized database at Peking Union Medical College Hospital to enhance diagnosis, treatment quality, and clinical decision-making for these tumors. The study is observational and does not involve experimental treatments. It categorizes mediastinal tumors into groups such as thymoma, teratomas, germ cell tumors, lymphomas, neuroendocrine tumors, neurinomas, thymic carcinoma, and others. Researchers will document clinical data and tumor characteristics over time, aiming to integrate resources and improve patient management by establishing a comprehensive, standardized mediastinal tumor database. Participants will provide clinical and pathological information, which will be structured and analyzed. Researchers will monitor outcomes including overall survival and progression-free survival for up to 20 years from enrollment. This long-term observation will provide valuable data to support future clinical protocols and improve understanding of mediastinal tumors. The study will continue until 2045, allowing extensive follow-up.
