Evaluation of Different Diagnostic and Therapeutic Strategies in Patients with Thyroid Diseases An Observational Prospective and Retrospective Study

This research investigates different diagnostic and treatment strategies for patients with various thyroid conditions, including hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism or thyrotoxicosis, benign thyroid nodules, and thyroid carcinoma. It is an observational, single-center study that includes both retrospective and prospective phases, focusing on patients already followed by the Center with at least a 3-month follow-up. The study aims to gather detailed information about the patient population with thyroid diseases over a long period. The study does not involve any new treatments or procedures beyond standard clinical care. In the retrospective phase, patients diagnosed from January 1, 1995, until the study approval are included, while the prospective phase enrolls patients diagnosed from the study approval date onward for the next 10 years. Each patient will be followed for up to 20 years, with data collected from routine clinical visits and tests. Participants will undergo no additional procedures outside of their usual care. Researchers will collect clinical information typically gathered during regular medical visits, without extra laboratory or imaging tests. The main outcome is to characterize the patient population with thyroid diseases throughout the study period, which averages 17 years. The study focuses on long-term observation and monitoring of thyroid conditions under normal clinical practice.
