What this Trial Is About
This research aims to better understand how the perception and experience of time change in normal aging and in Alzheimer's disease. It focuses on four specific aspects of time processing: perception of simultaneity and order, duration processing, subjective sense of time passage, and mental time travel. The study seeks to clarify how these time impairments relate to cognitive decline and to develop new tools for early detection and prevention in Alzheimer's disease. Participants with Alzheimer's disease will complete the CHRONOS battery, a neuropsychological tool designed to assess the four aspects of temporal processing in about ten minutes. This behavioral assessment will be conducted during a neuropsychological evaluation that lasts approximately three hours. The CHRONOS battery aims to identify behavioral markers linked to changes in time perception and memory. Throughout the study, participants will undergo neuropsychological assessments to measure their temporal processing abilities using the CHRONOS battery score and subscores. Researchers will track behavioral differences from enrollment to the end of the assessment. The project hopes to help patients express time-related difficulties and guide the development of new markers and interventions for Alzheimer's disease. Total participation time is about three hours during the neuropsychological assessment.
