This clinical trial evaluates a new dual-headed manual toothbrush compared to a conventional single-headed toothbrush among adult dental professionals aged 22 to 45 years with healthy gums. The study aims to determine if the dual-headed design improves plaque removal efficiency, reduces brushing time, enhances comfort, and increases user satisfaction using a randomized split-mouth design. This method compares one side of the mouth cleaned with the dual-headed toothbrush to the other side cleaned with the single-headed toothbrush. Participants receive both toothbrush types with medium bristles and identical toothpaste. They are trained in the Bass brushing technique and instructed to brush twice daily, using each toothbrush on its assigned side of the mouth. The trial includes an experimental arm with the dual-headed toothbrush and a control arm with the conventional single-headed toothbrush. The study measures outcomes after 2 and 4 weeks of brushing. During the study, participants complete clinical assessments of plaque index, gingival index, and bleeding index at 2 and 4 weeks. They also self-report brushing time and complete questionnaires about comfort and satisfaction after 4 weeks. The trial monitors oral hygiene effectiveness and user experience to guide improved toothbrush designs, lasting approximately 4 weeks of active participation.
