Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- 18 to 85 years old
- Persistent pain with a score of 4 or higher on a 0 to 10 scale for at least 6 months after joint arthroplasty or arthroscopy
- Able and willing to provide informed consent
- Willing and able to undergo PET/MRI (all participants) and PET/CT imaging (arthroplasty participants only)
- For healthy controls: 18 to 85 years old and asymptomatic with pain score of 2 or lower for at least 6 months after joint arthroplasty or arthroscopy
You will not qualify if you...
- Unable to understand or communicate to complete study questionnaires
- Severe systemic disease limiting function (ASA physical status classification greater than 3) such as recent or current pulmonary, liver, kidney, arthritis, blood, or neurological diseases not related to chronic pain
- Pregnant or breastfeeding
- Contraindications to or inability to undergo PET/MRI
- Current diagnosis of any cancer (except remission for at least two years without treatment per investigator discretion)
- Currently enrolled in another interventional or treatment study
- Unable or unwilling to provide informed consent
