What this Trial Is About

This research aims to create a French translation and cultural adaptation of the Affordances in the Home Environment for Motor Development Self-Report (AHEMD-SR). Originally developed in 2005, the AHEMD-SR evaluates the opportunities children aged 18 to 42 months have at home to support their motor skills development. It is widely used by researchers and practitioners, but until now, no French version has been available. The study involves translating the AHEMD-SR questionnaire into French and validating its cultural relevance with two groups: parents of children diagnosed with delayed motor development who are receiving intensive motor rehabilitation, and pediatric rehabilitation experts with at least five years of experience. Both groups are francophone by birth and participate in specialized centers. Participants will complete the French version of the questionnaire, and researchers will assess its reliability from July to October 2024. Parents will provide insights on their children's home environments while experts will offer professional feedback. The study includes careful evaluation to ensure the questionnaire is suitable for French-speaking families and professionals. Participation involves completing surveys and providing expert opinions during the study period.
