Evaluating Group Psychoeducation to Improve Home Independence for Adults with Severe Psychiatric Disorders

Researchers are evaluating the effectiveness of a group psychoeducation program designed to help individuals with severe psychiatric disorders, such as mood or psychotic disorders, improve their autonomy at home. This observational study focuses on participants supported by the RPS platform in Seine-Saint-Denis and aims to assess their daily living skills before and after the program. Participants take part in a 10-week psychoeducation program called AUTONHOME, consisting of 10 thematic sessions covering cognitive functions, daily living skills, hygiene, housing management, and social participation. The study involves groups of six patients each, and evaluations are done before starting the program and three months after its completion. During the study, researchers assess participants using various tools, including the Life Habits Assessment Tool at baseline, at the end of the program, and three months later. Additional assessments include depression scales, burden interviews, family expectations, symptom severity, clinical impressions, and cognitive function tests. The study aims to monitor changes in autonomy and mental health over time, with participation lasting throughout the program and follow-up periods.
