What this Trial Is About
Researchers are studying how combining mindfulness practices with e-health literacy can help university students better understand and use digital health information. The study focuses on students aged 18 to 25 and evaluates their skills in e-health literacy, food literacy, media literacy, critical thinking, and decision-making confidence. The study involves four groups to compare the effects of mindfulness, e-health information, both combined, and no additional intervention. Participants will be randomly assigned to one of four groups: the Mindfulness Group will engage in mindful eating and movement exercises during physical education classes; the E-health Group will receive digital health information twice a week; the Combined Group will receive both mindfulness activities and digital health information; and the Control Group will continue regular physical education without added interventions. The program lasts 8 weeks with sessions integrated into PE classes and digital content delivered via Moodle or email. Participants will complete questionnaires and computer-based tests before the program, immediately after the 8-week intervention, and again 4 weeks later to measure changes in literacy and cognitive skills. Optional interviews may be conducted to understand participant experiences. The main outcomes measured include eHealth Literacy Scale, Media Health Literacy Scale, Food Literacy Evaluation Questionnaire, and assessments of critical thinking and decision-making abilities. Additional measures include mindfulness, self-compassion, and fitness scales.
