Researchers are studying how health literacy relates to patient-reported outcomes and grip strength in adults with hand and forearm injuries. The study focuses on patients aged 18 to 65 who have experienced these injuries and aims to understand how their understanding of health information might impact their recovery and function. Patients referred to the hand rehabilitation unit for hand or forearm injuries will be observed over a 12-week period. During this time, conventional hand therapy treatments such as managing swelling and scars, along with exercises, will be applied. The study does not involve comparing different treatments but follows patients receiving standard rehabilitation care. Participants will be assessed at the 12th week after their injury using the European Health Literacy Scale, the Michigan Hand Outcomes Questionnaire, and measurements of grip strength. These assessments help researchers evaluate the functional outcomes and health literacy levels of patients. The study involves voluntary participation and observation over the 12-week recovery period.
