What this Trial Is About
Researchers are studying the effect of a behavioral homework program on stone clearance rates after retrograde intrarenal surgery (RIRS), a procedure used to treat kidney stones. This study aims to see if instructing patients to perform percussion (tapping) and movement or position changes at home can help stones pass more easily. The study is randomized and evaluates these home-based behavioral interventions compared to standard care without such homework. Participants are assigned to one of two groups: one group receives instructions for percussion and position changes to do at home after their RIRS procedure, while the other group receives standard RIRS without additional intervention. The study focuses on evaluating stone clearance and the need for further surgery or complications one month after the procedure. During the study, participants will be monitored for stone-free rates one month after surgery, along with any complications or secondary surgeries required. Researchers will track these outcomes to assess the effectiveness of the home-based behavioral approach. The study is sponsored by Adiyaman University and plans to enroll adults aged 18 and older undergoing RIRS.
