Eligibility Criteria

Eligible

You may qualify if you...

  • Adolescents seen as new patients in the pain clinic at Connecticut Children's
  • Referred to occupational therapy services
  • Adolescents diagnosed with a form of chronic pain
  • Between the ages of 11 and 21 years at time of enrollment
  • If over 18, ability to understand and willingness to sign informed consent or use short form process
  • If under 18, parent/legal guardian able and willing to sign informed consent or use short form process
  • Adolescents aged 11 to less than 18 years able and willing to sign assent
  • Adolescents who agree to therapeutic yoga as part of their occupational therapy treatment plan
Not Eligible

You will not qualify if you...

  • Adolescents not receiving yoga as part of their occupational therapy treatment plan
  • Adolescents with cognitive impairment that impedes participation
  • Adolescents with neuromuscular diagnoses like Cerebral Palsy, Spinal Muscular Atrophy, or Muscular Dystrophies not suitable for yoga
  • Adolescents unwilling to complete surveys for the study
  • Adolescents currently practicing yoga regularly
  • Adolescents currently receiving occupational therapy at another location
