What this Trial Is About
This research aims to assess the functional and surgical results of Joshi's step combined with buccal mucosal graft urethroplasty in treating nearly obliterated bulbar urethral stricture. This condition involves a severe narrowing of the bulbar urethra, and the study evaluates a new surgical technique introduced in 2022 that avoids removing the narrowest part of the urethral plate, instead using careful suturing to restore the urethra. Participants will receive a dorsal onlay buccal mucosal graft urethroplasty using Joshi's step technique. This approach is designed for patients with extremely narrow strictures where a single augmentation is insufficient. The treatment avoids resecting the residual urethral plate and focuses on reconstructing the affected area with a graft and suturing. During the study, participants will be monitored for surgical success six months after the operation. Assessments will include measuring urine flow rate and the size of the urethral lumen to evaluate the outcome of the procedure. The total study period involves follow-up visits to track recovery and functional improvements after surgery.
