What this Trial Is About
Researchers are evaluating advanced imaging methods to monitor neural and electrical activity in the brain. The study aims to improve clinical diagnosis by optimizing MRI pulse sequences, developing image-based models that reflect the brain's electrical properties, and comparing these models with existing MRI techniques. It also seeks to correlate imaging findings with electrophysiologic monitoring, tissue assays, and clinical features in both diseased and healthy brains. This observational study involves participants completing a survey and undergoing MRI scans. The MRI techniques include diffusion imaging and conductivity tensor imaging to capture electrical properties and neural integrity. The study includes healthy volunteers and individuals who have had surgical biopsy or resection for suspected or known malignant glioma. Participants will be assessed through surveys and MRI scans to collect data on brain electrical properties. Researchers will analyze diffusion MRI metrics using conductivity tensor imaging to identify regional electrical characteristics at baseline. The study is sponsored by Mayo Clinic and is designed to monitor outcomes related to brain imaging without providing any treatment. Participation duration varies based on individual involvement in surveys and imaging procedures.
