What this Trial Is About
This research investigates how aerobic exercise added to a Mediterranean diet affects non-alcoholic fatty liver disease in women with Familial Mediterranean Fever (FMF). FMF is a condition that can impact liver function, and current treatments mainly focus on exercise and diet limitations. The study aims to understand whether exercise can improve liver health alongside traditional drug therapy with colchicine. Participants will be divided randomly into two groups, each with 20 women diagnosed with FMF and fatty liver. Both groups will continue their daily colchicine treatment and follow a Mediterranean diet for six months. One group will also perform elliptical aerobic exercise for 40 minutes, three times a week, throughout the same six-month period. During the study, researchers will measure liver enzymes like aspartate transaminase after six months to assess liver function. Other measurements include body mass index, waist circumference, cholesterol levels, and inflammation markers. The study will monitor participants' health and responses to the diet and exercise over the full six-month period.
