Feasibility Study of MedlyPeds App for Remote Monitoring in Children and Teens with Heart Disease

What this Trial Is About

Researchers are evaluating the MedlyPeds smartphone application designed to remotely monitor children and adolescents with various types of heart disease. This feasibility study aims to identify which patient groups may benefit most from using MedlyPeds for clinical monitoring. The study also gathers feedback from patients, parents, and clinicians to improve the app for future trials. Participants will use the MedlyPeds app, which allows them to monitor their weight, blood pressure, and heart rate using wireless home medical devices. They will also report symptoms and wellness through their mobile phones. Data is transmitted automatically to a server, and personalized self-care messages are sent based on the readings and symptoms. The study follows participants for 3 months, during which quality of life questionnaires and feedback surveys are completed. During the study, patients answer questionnaires about their experience with the app at the start and end of the 3-month period. Some patients and clinicians may take part in interviews to provide further feedback. Researchers will measure daily app check-in completion rates, feasibility, acceptability, medication compliance, quality of life, self-management, and attrition rates. The total participation lasts 3 months, focusing on monitoring and improving the telemonitoring system.
