Researchers are collecting blood, synovial fluid, and skin biopsy samples from adult patients with rheumatoid diseases to create a biobank for clinical and basic research. The study focuses on autoimmune rheumatic diseases, which are chronic inflammatory conditions influenced by genetic and environmental factors. By analyzing proteins, DNA, and RNA from these samples, researchers aim to better understand disease development, progression, and response to therapy, contributing to personalized medicine. Samples are collected from patients who consent and may be taken at diagnosis or follow-up visits. Blood samples are drawn by certified staff, synovial fluid and skin biopsies by physicians, under routine clinical care without treatment delays. Samples are processed, stored securely in the biobank, and coded to protect patient privacy. Researchers from various institutions can request samples for approved studies following strict ethical guidelines. Participants provide informed consent and may withdraw anytime, stopping use of their samples. Researchers will measure proteins and genetic material from the samples to support various studies. The biobank aims to collect about 500 samples yearly, with storage planned for 20 years. Privacy protections, sample handling protocols, and long-term storage plans ensure participant rights and sample integrity throughout the study.
