AI-Summary
What this Trial Is About
Researchers are exploring the experiences of pregnancy and parenting among people diagnosed with Lyme disease, including post-treatment Lyme disease syndrome and chronic Lyme. The study aims to understand how these conditions affect pregnancy, interactions with medical care, and child development. It is an observational mixed methods study focusing on gestational parents who have had Lyme disease during or before pregnancy. Participants will complete online quantitative surveys covering demographics, medical history, pregnancy details, and mental health. Following the surveys, they will take part in an in-depth qualitative interview about their pregnancy and parenting experiences with Lyme disease. This allows researchers to gather both statistical data and personal stories. Participants will be involved from March 2024 to March 2025, completing questionnaires and interviews conducted in English. Researchers will assess various outcomes including mental health scales, parenting stress, and well-being. The study monitors participants’ experiences to better understand the challenges faced during pregnancy and parenting with Lyme disease.
