Study on Using a Digital Tool to Prevent Relapse in Substance Use Disorders Comparing Standard Treatment With and Without Digital Support

Researchers are evaluating a digital tool designed to monitor and detect early relapse in people undergoing addiction treatment for substance-related disorders. The study compares the traditional multidisciplinary treatment model with the same model enhanced by this technology. The goal is to demonstrate if the digital tool adds clinical value by improving long-term recovery outcomes. The treatments involve a standard comprehensive care model addressing biological, psychological, and social aspects of addiction through phases like assessment, detoxification, withdrawal management, rehabilitation, social reintegration, and follow-up. One group receives this standard care alone, while the other group receives the standard care plus a digital monitoring application that tracks clinical status, detects early relapse signs, and offers personalized interventions. Participants will be assessed using validated tools and biological tests such as urine toxicology and breath alcohol tests throughout intervention and follow-up over 12 months. Researchers will measure outcomes including withdrawal symptom reduction, craving decrease, emotional well-being, psychosocial functioning, relapse rates, and patient satisfaction. The study also evaluates the digital tools feasibility, acceptability, and clinical usefulness during therapeutic follow-up.
