Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Aged greater than or equal to 40 and less than 70 years
- Male or female
- Newly diagnosed with type 2 diabetes mellitus and started anti-hyperglycemic treatment between January 1, 2022 and December 31, 2023
You will not qualify if you...
- Diagnosis of type 1 diabetes mellitus or gestational diabetes
- Any anti-hyperglycemic medication prescribed before first diagnosis of type 2 diabetes mellitus
- Pregnant women
- Pre-existing atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease including coronary heart disease, stroke, transient ischemic attack, or peripheral artery disease
- Death within 12 months after first diagnosis of type 2 diabetes mellitus
- Lost to follow-up with no visit within 12 months (± 3 months) after first diagnosis of type 2 diabetes mellitus
