What this Trial Is About

Researchers are studying chronic hypoparathyroidism, a condition where long-term treatment does not fully restore calcium balance, leading to more health problems, emergency events, and reduced quality of life. This observational trial aims to better understand the general health issues, calcium level events, and daily life impact for patients with chronic hypoparathyroidism or pseudohypoparathyroidism. Participants will undergo standardized interviews, blood tests, and medical examinations including echocardiography and kidney ultrasound. The study compares patients' data to matched controls over a long period, documenting health status and complications related to calcium imbalances. During the study, participants will provide health information through interviews and undergo various medical assessments to monitor comorbidities, calcium-related events, and overall subjective health. Researchers will track these outcomes for up to 15 years, analyzing data while ensuring privacy through pseudonymization. The study supports long-term monitoring of patient health and quality of life.
