This research aims to explore the relationship between sexuality and mental health in adults aged 60 years and older. It addresses the decline in sexual activity in this age group, which is influenced by physical dysfunctions and social and cultural factors like stereotypes and loss of partners. The study highlights the importance of sexuality for mental and physical health, quality of life, and the potential impact on cardiovascular and cancer risks. Participants will complete self-administered questionnaires to assess quality of life, sexual satisfaction, and mental health aspects, including anxiety and depression. The study has a single group design without a comparator, focusing on community-dwelling older adults, including those in senior associations and independent residences. During the study, participants will be involved in completing validated questionnaires such as the Hospital Anxiety Depression Scale, Quality of Life Questionnaire QLQC30, and the Index of Sexual Satisfaction. Researchers will analyze these responses to understand the association between sexuality and mental health, psychotropic drug use, and differences among living settings. The study will enroll participants aged 60 and older and is expected to complete by September 2026.
