What this Trial Is About
Researchers are comparing the immediate heart and lung responses and personal feelings during a single exercise session in people who had Covid-19. The study focuses on those with ongoing symptoms after Covid-19 infection, known as Post-Acute Covid-19 Syndrome, and those who had Covid-19 but do not have persistent symptoms. This research aims to understand these differences using physical and perceptual measures. Participants will take part in two sessions: one where they exercise and another where they simply rest while seated. The exercise session lasts about 45 minutes and includes aerobic activities like jumping jacks and walking, followed by strength exercises targeting main muscle groups, and finishing with stretching. The control session lasts 60 minutes with participants remaining seated. During these sessions, researchers will measure blood pressure, heart rate variability, oxygen levels, vascular function, and breathing capacity before, during, and after exercise or rest. Participants' feelings and perceptions will also be recorded regularly. These measurements will help evaluate how the body and mind respond acutely to exercise in people with or without ongoing Covid-19 symptoms. The study is randomized and includes safety monitoring for cardiovascular risk.
