What this Trial Is About
This research focuses on obese individuals undergoing abdominoplasty surgery to study how adding resolution molecules might reduce inflammation and insulin resistance in their fat tissue. The study aims to see if these laboratory results match the patients' own resolution profiles related to inflammation and diabetes development. Participants are classified based on their metabolic health status after surgery. The study involves collecting tissue samples during the abdominoplasty procedure to analyze inflammatory markers and insulin resistance. No specific treatments or drugs are given as this is an observational study. Participants will be involved in assessments mainly around the time of their surgery, with researchers measuring inflammatory status as the primary outcome by 2025. The study tracks inflammatory markers in tissue to understand diabetes development better. Participation involves observation and tissue analysis without altering standard care.
