What this Trial Is About

This research aims to understand how healthcare professionals working in orthotics and prosthetics perceive and use generative artificial intelligence (AI). The study evaluates their attitudes, technology acceptance, and skills related to AI to inform updates in education, institutional policies, and wider AI adoption in clinical practice. Participants will complete several questionnaires measuring technology acceptance, general attitudes toward AI, AI usage skills, and perceptions about AI. Those actively using AI will also take part in face-to-face interviews to explore their experiences, impact on workflow, and concerns. Additionally, an online focus group with intensive AI users will discuss shared perceptions and future suggestions. Participants will provide demographic information and complete multiple scales and interview sessions lasting from 5 minutes to up to 90 minutes. The study will assess professional requirements, barriers, and opportunities for integrating AI in orthotics and prosthetics. The total participant commitment includes both quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews to gather comprehensive insights.
