What this Trial Is About
Researchers are evaluating a special PETCT scan using the tracer 68GaGa-FAPI-46 to improve diagnosis and treatment planning for patients with gastroesophageal and pancreatic cancers. This Phase 2 trial aims to determine if this imaging method detects metastatic disease in the abdomen better than other scans and if it can produce accurate images in less than 30 minutes. The study includes three patient groups based on cancer type and treatment plans. Participants will receive one 68GaGa-FAPI-46 Total Body PETCT scan at different times depending on their group before surgery for pancreatic cancer patients, before diagnostic laparoscopy for gastroesophageal cancer patients, or before oncological treatment for a gastroesophageal cancer subgroup with specific cancer types. Patients in the subgroup receiving chemotherapy will have a second scan during treatment. All participants will complete one questionnaire, and the study will follow them for one year. During the study, researchers will assess the sensitivity and accuracy of the PETCT scans, track how imaging results might change patient management, and describe tracer uptake in suspicious lesions. Patients will be monitored for one year after their scans to gather comprehensive information. The study focuses on adults aged 18 and older who can provide informed consent and understand Danish.
