This research evaluates two group-based behavioral parent training programs called HOT DOCS and DOCS K-5, designed for caregivers and professionals working with children from birth up to fifth grade. The study focuses on addressing common early childhood disruptive behaviors such as whining, temper tantrums, and non-compliance, which can persist into later childhood, especially in children with special needs. The programs aim to help caregivers understand and manage everyday behavior problems using prevention strategies and positive supports. The HOT DOCS program is delivered to caregivers of children aged 0 to 5 years, while the DOCS K-5 program targets caregivers of children in kindergarten through fifth grade. Both programs are offered in group settings and are available in English and Spanish. They emphasize a problem-solving approach to improve parenting skills and reduce stress related to child behavior. Professionals working with children in these age ranges are also eligible to participate. Participants will engage in the behavioral training sessions and will be assessed using tools like the Eyberg Child Behavior Inventory and DOCS Parenting Stress Measure from enrollment through the 6-week treatment period. Additional measures include the Therapy Attitude Inventory and the Developmentally Appropriate Discipline Inventory. The study includes caregivers and professionals of children ages 0 to 12 years. Participation involves monitoring changes in child behavior and parenting stress to evaluate the programs' impact.
