This research aims to collect ongoing data about the natural course of bone metastases and related bone events. It focuses on patients who have metastatic bone disease undergoing surgery for long bone fractures. The study evaluates clinical and biological factors to understand complications, functional outcomes, and survival differences in these patients. Participants receive surgical treatment either by intramedullary fixation (using a nail inside the bone) or endoprosthetic reconstruction (replacement with a prosthesis). The study compares complication rates between these methods and by anatomic location. It also assesses functional results using the Musculoskeletal Tumor Society System and follows patients for up to 24 months after surgery. Throughout the study, researchers monitor clinical outcomes including surgery complications, functional status, and patient survival over two years. Data collected includes disease-specific, laboratory, and demographic information to understand factors affecting outcomes. This observational study involves no randomization or additional interventions beyond usual surgical care, and participation length varies depending on follow-up.
