Total Duration
Researchers are evaluating the use of 7-Tesla (7T) and 3T magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to detect brain diseases such as brain tumors and cerebrovascular diseases. The study aims to compare the increased sensitivity and accuracy of 7T MRI with the standard 3T MRI, focusing on improved lesion detection and diagnostic confidence that may help guide treatment decisions. This interventional study is sponsored by the Chinese PLA General Hospital and involves adults aged 18 to 80 years with brain diseases who are clinically stable. Participants will receive MRI scans using both 7T and 3T devices. The study will assess image characteristics and diagnostic accuracy by comparing the MRI scans to biopsy results. The benefits of 7T MRI include better anatomic detail, higher spatial and spectral resolution, and shorter scan times compared to 3T MRI. The study involves diagnostic imaging procedures performed within one month after biopsy and follow-up assessments up to six months. During the study, researchers will evaluate how well the MRI scans correspond to actual brain tumor cells found in biopsies and examine the visibility of white matter tracts on both 7T and 3T MRI. They will also study the relationship between MRI findings and patients' functional status one month after surgery. Participants will undergo MRI scans and clinical assessments, with the main outcomes measured shortly after biopsy and at six months. The total participation duration varies depending on individual biopsy and follow-up schedules.
