What this Trial Is About
Researchers are studying how the autonomic nervous system and blood flow in the brain work together in healthy adults. This study focuses on understanding cardiovascular and cerebrovascular control by analyzing natural fluctuations in heart rate, blood pressure, and cerebral blood flow during changes in body position. It aims to explore how these systems interact using advanced signal processing methods. Participants will undergo monitoring while resting lying down for 10 minutes and while standing actively for another 10 minutes. During these times, heart period, systolic and mean arterial blood pressure, cerebral blood velocity, peripheral resistances, and respiration will be recorded noninvasively to assess autonomic and cerebrovascular function. Throughout the study, researchers will evaluate the state and interactions of autonomic function and cerebrovascular control over a 12-month period. Participants will be observed for changes during an orthostatic challenge, with detailed data collection to understand how these systems respond to position changes. The total participation timeline covers at least one year for outcome measurement and follow-up.
