Researchers are conducting the Cardiovascular Outcomes Registry in Cardiogenic SHOCK COR-SHOCK, an observational study focused on adult patients admitted with cardiogenic shock. The study aims to evaluate how management strategies and clinical outcomes have changed over time, and how clinical, laboratory, and advanced hemodynamic monitoring relate to patient survival and prognosis. The registry captures detailed real-world data including laboratory tests and invasive hemodynamic measurements to understand the complex pathophysiology of cardiogenic shock. Participants receive standard medical care for cardiogenic shock as determined by their clinical team, with no experimental treatments involved. Data is collected retrospectively and prospectively from electronic health records, covering clinical, laboratory, imaging, and advanced hemodynamic parameters. The study includes a retrospective cohort from 2017 to 2025 and plans to recruit additional patients prospectively over 2 to 3 years, aiming for about 750 to 800 patients total. During the study, participants clinical data are collected and monitored up to one year after hospital admission to assess survival and clinical outcomes. Researchers perform quality assurance with data audits and source verification to maintain data accuracy. The primary outcome measured is all-cause mortality within 30 days of admission, with secondary outcomes including mortality at one year and major cardiovascular events. The study monitors participants through routine care without altering treatment and seeks to understand trends in management and outcomes over time.
