What this Trial Is About
Researchers are evaluating the use of a Real Time MRI Rapid Flash sequence to study the movements of the temporomandibular joint TMJ in both healthy individuals and patients with temporomandibular joint disorders TMD. This method aims to characterize normal and pathological joint movements by capturing detailed MRI images in real time. The study is focused on understanding differences in the movement of the joint structures between these two groups. Participants will undergo MRI examinations of their temporomandibular joints using the Real Time MRI Rapid Flash sequence. The study groups include healthy volunteers and patients diagnosed with temporomandibular joint disorders. This imaging technique is used to observe and measure joint movement and muscle volume during motion to provide detailed morphological data. During the study, participants will have baseline MRI scans taken to measure condyle and disc displacement during TMJ movements, as well as the volume of key chewing muscles. Researchers will analyze curves representing these movements and differences between healthy and affected subjects. The study does not involve blinding or randomization. Participation includes informed consent and ability to follow instructions, with the study lasting until December 2026.
