What this Trial Is About

Researchers are investigating how lifestyle and physical fitness affect cardiovascular health among working adults in China. This study focuses on metabolic risk factors like obesity, hypertension, diabetes, and dyslipidemia, which are increasing in this population. The goal is to understand how lifestyle habits such as smoking, diet, physical activity, sleep, and psychological stress interact with physical fitness to influence the development of cardiovascular diseases (CVD). This prospective cohort study will follow occupational individuals aged 18 to 59 years, with or without existing CVD risk factors, over multiple years. Participants will have their lifestyle habits and physical fitness assessed annually, along with health examinations. Researchers aim to create a comprehensive evaluation index for cardiovascular health lifestyle and analyze how lifestyle and fitness levels impact the occurrence and progression of CVD. Participants will provide data on their general health, lifestyle, and physical fitness, which will be tracked over a 10-year period. The study will monitor the occurrence of major cardiovascular events and other health outcomes such as cancer and death. Measures include blood pressure, blood lipids, body mass index, oxygen uptake capacity, and metabolic equivalents. This long-term follow-up will help explore the relationships between lifestyle, fitness, and heart health.
