Clinical Characteristics and Prognosis of Aortic Dissection in China (CLASSIC): a National, Multicenter, Retrospective-prospective, Cohort Study

Researchers are conducting a long-term study to understand aortic dissection by building a large group of patients who will be followed over time through a network of multiple centers. The study combines looking back at medical records from 2003 to 2022 and gathering new patient data from 2022 to 2030. It aims to explore how the disease develops, its characteristics, clinical features, natural course, and factors that influence its progression and patient outcomes. Patients diagnosed with aortic dissection at participating centers will be included and regularly followed up. There is no treatment or intervention given as part of this study; it is observational. The study includes both retrospective data collection from past cases and prospective enrollment of new patients. This approach helps build a comprehensive long-term management system for aortic dissection. Participants will be monitored over time through medical consultations and follow-ups. Researchers will assess outcomes such as survival rates after surgery at various time points up to five years, as well as the occurrence of major adverse cardiac and cerebrovascular events and any complications. The study lasts from October 2023 to December 2030, involving detailed data collection and ongoing evaluation of patient health and disease progression.
