Researchers are developing a gamified web-based pain management program GAP specifically for community-dwelling older adults with chronic pain. Pain often reduces physical abilities and quality of life in seniors, and many hesitate to use medications due to side effects or beliefs that pain is a normal part of aging. This study explores non-drug strategies enhanced with gaming elements to improve engagement and motivation in pain management. The program will be created with active participation from older adults living with chronic pain, who will help develop educational materials, exercise videos, and gaming activities through a joint process with the research team. The GAP platform will deliver interactive content about pain, medications, non-drug treatments, and exercises via a mobile-friendly website. Participants will contribute feedback in biweekly meetings, supporting continuous improvement of the program. Participants will be involved in light exercise and stretching activities and use their smartphones to access the GAP platform. The study will collect data on pain relief over a 4-week period. Feedback and comments from participants will be gathered regularly to monitor the programs development. The total study duration and follow-up details are designed to ensure the program meets the needs of older adults managing chronic pain effectively.
