What this Trial Is About
This research investigates elderly people living alone at home, aiming to help them adopt healthier lifestyle habits, reduce feelings of loneliness, and improve their social support networks. The study focuses on older adults registered with a home care unit who face challenges such as physical weakness, cognitive decline, and chronic diseases, which can increase vulnerability and reduce daily activity. Participants will receive a home visit supported nursing education program that includes personalized nurse-led guidance on walking and exercise, chronic disease self-management, medication compliance techniques, vital sign monitoring, nutrition planning with follow-ups, cooking activities, and support in building family, friend, and neighbor communication networks. A control group will receive standard care without this program. Throughout the study, participants will be monitored for changes in healthy lifestyle behaviors, loneliness levels using the UCLA Loneliness Scale, and social support using the Multidimensional Perceived Social Support Scale. These measures will be assessed over an 8-week period to evaluate the program's impact. The study is planned as a quasi-experimental design and includes elderly people aged 65 to 95 who live alone and receive home care services.
