What this Trial Is About

Researchers are evaluating the effects of neuromuscular reeducation compared to friction massage in people with lateral epicondylitis, a condition affecting the elbow. This randomized control trial aims to determine which treatment better improves pain and range of motion over a four-week period. Participants will be assigned to groups by a coin toss method and assessed using specific tests like Cozen's, Maudsley's, and Mills tests. Participants in Group A will receive ultrasound treatment followed by neuromuscular reeducation combined with strengthening exercises. For the first two weeks, cross friction massage with active movement will be performed, followed by longitudinal friction massage with active movement for the next two weeks. Group B will receive ultrasound followed by friction massage and strengthening exercises. Their treatment includes cross friction massage alone for two weeks and longitudinal friction massage alone for the last two weeks. Both groups undergo sessions 2 to 3 times per week over the four-week period. During the study, participants' pain levels and range of motion will be measured before and after the treatment period. The exercise protocol will be taught and supervised by an experienced physiotherapist, who will adjust exercises based on each participant's tolerance. The study includes regular assessments to monitor progress and outcomes throughout the four weeks of intervention.
