What this Trial Is About
Knee Osteoarthritis is a common joint disease causing pain, disability, and reduced quality of life. This study evaluates two rehabilitation methodsPressure Biofeedback Training and Bolster Foam Roll Trainingto see which better reduces pain, improves muscle activation, and enhances quality of life in adults aged 45 to 65 with Grade II knee osteoarthritis. The trial involves 48 participants randomly assigned to either method in a single-blinded, parallel group design. Participants will attend supervised sessions three times a week for eight weeks. Each 45-minute session includes warm-up, conventional physiotherapy exercises, and specific isometric training using either a Pressure Biofeedback Unit or a high-density foam bolster. The Pressure Biofeedback group uses a visual dial to guide muscle activation, while the Bolster Foam group relies on tactile feedback by crushing the foam. Assessments occur at baseline, mid-intervention, post-intervention, and follow-up at week 12. Participants undergo evaluations of pain intensity using a numeric scale, functional status and quality of life via the WOMAC Index, and quadriceps muscle activation through a Modified Sphygmomanometer Test. These measures help determine the effectiveness of each training method. The study is conducted at outpatient departments with ongoing monitoring and data collection throughout the 12-week period from the start of treatment.
