What this Trial Is About
Researchers are evaluating the effects of reformer pilates exercises on posture, core endurance, and body awareness in adolescents aged 10 to 19 years. This randomized controlled trial compares an exercise program to a control group receiving only educational information on posture and physical activity. The goal is to see if reformer pilates improves these outcomes over six weeks. Participants are randomly assigned to either the reformer pilates group or the control group. The pilates group performs supervised exercises twice a week for six weeks, including 12 different movements targeting core muscles with progressive resistance and repetitions. The control group attends a single educational session about posture and physical activity but does not perform pilates during the study. After six weeks, all participants have the option to join the pilates program. During the study, posture will be analyzed using a specialized software with photographs taken from multiple angles, and trunk endurance will be measured with standard endurance tests. Body awareness will be assessed through questionnaires evaluating physical, emotional, and social aspects. Assessments occur at the start and after six weeks. Data will be analyzed to compare changes within and between groups, with safety and adherence monitored throughout the trial.
