Eligibility Criteria

Eligible

You may qualify if you...

  • Age 20 to 50 years
  • Male and female participants
  • Unilateral radiculopathy due to L4-L5 or L5-S1 disc bulge confirmed by clinical exam and MRI
  • Symptom duration between 4 weeks and 6 months
  • Positive Straight Leg Raise test on affected leg with less than 70 degrees of hip flexion
  • Pain intensity less than 7 on the Numeric Pain Rating Scale (mild to moderate pain)
Not Eligible

You will not qualify if you...

  • Cognitive impairment, dementia, or central cord signs
  • Inflammatory or degenerative spine conditions
  • Spine surgery within the last 6 months
  • Pregnant women in the later half of the 2nd or 3rd trimester
  • Muscular involvement such as Deep Gluteal syndrome or Piriformis syndrome
  • Currently receiving medications or other treatments for lumbar radiculopathy
