What this Trial Is About

Primary Sjf6gren's syndrome (pSS) is a chronic autoimmune disease that affects the salivary glands, leading to inflammation, damage, and loss of gland function. Researchers are evaluating a new imaging approach using two types of PET scans, PSMA PET and FAPI PET, to better understand and measure both gland function and inflammation simultaneously. This method could improve disease staging and guide treatment decisions by capturing the complex biological changes in pSS. Participants diagnosed with pSS will undergo both PSMA PET and FAPI PET imaging to assess salivary gland function and inflammation. Another group of patients with prostate cancer will have PSMA PET scans only, serving as a reference for normal salivary gland function. The study aims to develop a combined PSMA/FAPI Index that integrates both imaging signals to characterize disease activity and progression. During the study, participants will receive PET scans that measure salivary gland function and inflammatory activity. Researchers will compare these imaging results with clinical indicators to understand their relationship. They will measure differences in tracer uptake between groups and explore how PSMA and FAPI signals relate spatially and quantitatively. The study will provide important data for noninvasive disease monitoring and may help predict responses to therapy. Participation involves scheduled imaging visits and clinical assessments over the study period.
