Researchers are developing and testing different designs of high-power prisms to help people who have lost part of their vision field. These prisms aim to expand their field of vision to improve obstacle detection while walking. The study focuses on finding the best prism designs and fitting methods for future clinical use in patients with conditions like homonymous hemianopia, tunnel vision, and other visual field defects. Participants will receive custom-fitted high-power prisms incorporated into spectacle lenses. Each individual will have multiple visits, usually four, to the research institute for fitting and testing of their prism glasses. The study does not include placebo or comparison groups, and the focus is on evaluating different prism configurations tailored to each participant. During the study, participants will undergo several assessments over about four months to measure the expansion of their field of view and their ability to detect pedestrians. These visits will last between 2 to 4 hours, and participants must be able to walk short distances independently. Researchers will monitor how well the prisms work and how participants adjust to wearing them, collecting data that will guide future prism device development.
