What this Trial Is About

Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) is a common hormonal disorder in women of reproductive age, often linked with insulin resistance (IR), which worsens symptoms like high androgen levels and increases risks for heart disease and endometrial cancer. This research aims to find better early markers of IR by measuring specific proteins, which could help in early diagnosis and treatment to improve quality of life and understand PCOS causes. The study will measure concentrations of three proteins: kisspeptin, ghrelin, and zonulin in three groups of women: those with PCOS and insulin resistance, those with PCOS without insulin resistance, and women without PCOS. These proteins will be measured from fasting blood samples using specialized lab methods. Participants will provide fasting blood samples to have these protein levels tested. Researchers will compare the protein concentrations across the groups over up to six months. The study will use blood tests and statistical analysis to understand differences, aiming to identify early markers of insulin resistance in women with PCOS.
