What this Trial Is About
Researchers are evaluating how robotic surgery affects the functional status and quality of life in older patients who have colorectal cancer. The study focuses on patients aged 70 years and older and aims to understand changes in frailty and quality of life before and after surgery. Participants undergo a geriatric assessment to evaluate cognitive function, functional status, and quality of life before surgery and at 3, 6, and 12 months afterward. The study monitors several outcomes including frailty status changes, functional improvement and recovery, quality of life changes, surgery conversion rates, hospital stay length, post-operative complications, and survival rates. During the study, patients will have assessments of cognitive function, functional status, and quality of life at multiple time points before and after surgery. Researchers will track post-operative outcomes such as confusion rates, morbidity, mortality, and disease-free survival up to one year after surgery. The total duration of participation includes evaluations before surgery and follow-ups up to 12 months post-surgery.
