What this Trial Is About
Researchers are studying the use of Argon Beam Coagulation ABC, an energy-based surgical technique, in women undergoing laparoscopic surgery for ovarian endometriomas, a common condition in endometriosis. The study aims to determine how deeply ABC affects ovarian tissue and to provide safety data to support its use as a tissue-preserving method during surgery. Participants will receive standardized Argon Plasma Coagulation applied to the surface of the ovarian endometrioma capsule just before laparoscopic cystectomy. The treated tissue will be removed during the surgery and examined under a microscope to measure how deeply the coagulation penetrated the tissue. This prospective study is conducted at a single center with women aged 18 to 40 undergoing this planned surgical procedure. During the study, researchers will analyze the depth of thermal tissue effects immediately after surgery and assess other outcomes like the presence of residual endometriotic tissue, completeness of cyst lining removal, thermal damage to nearby ovarian tissue, and any intraoperative or postoperative complications up to 30 days. Participants will undergo the planned surgery with this additional coagulation step, and tissue samples will be processed for detailed histological examination.
