What this Trial Is About

Researchers are investigating the role of immune cells in women with idiopathic infertility and recurrent miscarriages, conditions where the immune system's involvement is not fully understood. The study focuses on changes in uterine lymphocytes, especially natural killer (NK) cells, macrophages, and T lymphocytes, which may affect the uterus's ability to allow embryo implantation. It compares immune cell populations in women with reduced fertility to those in women with normal fertility. The study collects a small endometrial biopsy and a peripheral blood sample from women aged 18 to 45 undergoing diagnostic procedures. These samples are analyzed using flow cytometry to measure various immune cell types, including monocytes, plasmocytes, lymphocytes, and NK cells, with specific markers to identify different subpopulations. The research examines how blood immune cell profiles correlate with those in the endometrium. Participants provide medical and reproductive histories, and their samples are tested for immune cell distribution. The study measures the percentages of various immune cells in blood and endometrial tissue over up to six months. Statistical methods will be used to analyze the relationships between immune cells in both sample types. This observational study helps deepen understanding of immune involvement in fertility and miscarriage.
